This bungalow was like all the other ones in the neighborhood, Very popular in the 70's, these houses have a tendency to blend one into the other. The owners wanted to transform their property, but above all, they wished to give it its own identity. Thanks to the advice of Planimage's architectural experts, their home is now quite unique.
The house was considerably enlarged thanks to the addition of a large family room and a huge two-car garage. The roof was also completely redesigned: gables were added, as well as an overhang above the main entrance, breaking the monotony of the previous rectangular look. The house is now livelier and is deeper. Doors and windows were replaced and a new railing was installed. The brick facing was replaced and keystones were added above all the openings giving the home a more luxurious feel. Finally, the white elements and architectural details stand out nicely against the dark brick. Inside, the changes are just as spectacular. The old house had no transition zone between the outside and the inside, a situation that was corrected with the addition of a large entrance hall leading to a family room filled with natural light thanks to a large patio door and two skylights. The basement staircase was moved and reinstalled in this room. The space recovered was used to create a large area that links the old and the new sections.
