ADVICE

DESIGN

Planting a tree is aesthetically rewarding; before opting for any species, it is important to be particular in knowing the size (height and width) of the tree at maturity. Also, verify the applicable local regulations as certain invasive species can be prohibited.

Living in an urban environment presents its disadvantages, among the few is noise. Adding lattices clad with vegetation or planters full of luxurious plants will constitute a visual and protective barrier against noise; this will increase intimacy for your garden.

Available space is often limited for a garden situated in an urban setting. Retractable awnings, which are available in various sizes and colours, will provide notable flexibility and complement your outdoor environment without occupying much space.

This urban garden is situated within a small area; the materials and plants were specifically selected to create the illusion of a larger space. The texture of the slabs and pavers blend well with the lines of the stairs and terrace. Ground covering vegetation such as Thymus serpyllum ĎAlbusí and Ajuga reptans can replace the lawn, be easily maintained and create a more vivid ambiance. The colour scheme of this urban garden was inspired by the red hues of the awnings and furniture. Red is dynamic and brightens up this garden which contrasts the bleak tones of the city. Indeed, red flowering plants offer a touch of joy while attracting butterflies and hummingbirds.
